Hello, welcome to Little Home on Shadow Lake!
I am currently a stay-at-home mom, raising an adventurous toddler, and married to a Rwandan man. In this blog, I will refer to my son as Little Lion and my husband as Honey Badger.
I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and my faith influences my life and much of what I write, even if I don’t explicitly preach the Gospel. I graduated from Grace University with every intention to move overseas to share the Gospel and serve as a midwife- two things which never happened! Since marrying and becoming a mother, I have found that our faith is best lived out in the everyday mundaneness of life, rather than hours spent in a church.
We have lived by Shadow Lake for nearly five years (Honey Badger has lived here for five, me, four). Each year, I find myself more and more in love with this small lake. Every season brings some new magic, something new to marvel at. All the while, my own life reflects these seasonal changes- each season brings something new, beautiful, difficult.
We’re starting small, but stay tuned for posts on topics ranging from reflections by the lake, life as a homemaker and mama, and more.
Thanks for being here!
Sierra
